Hello,
I have a Linksys WRT54GS Wireless G Speed Booster router, v. 1.0 and a Linksys Compact Wireless G Network adapter attached to my Dell Desktop. My signal continually fades from a speed of 54 Mbps, when initially booted up, down to 5.0 (not during downloading, or anything, just with general surfing, emialing, etc.) and the signal fades from "Very good" to "good" to "low" (staying at "low" predominantly).

If I place my wireless laptop on the desk next to the desktop, it's signal is 54.0 Mbps and "excellent" strength.

This makes me believe my adapter is the problem, but I've changed to a newer one, and I'm still having the same problem.

What is a "bridge" used for? I used to use a Linksys ethernet bridge, on an OLD 1998 computer, if that could be of any help in this situation.

I will be eternally grateful for any suggestions!

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

It sounds like u have something else WIFI or bluetooth could be interfearing with your signal. Or the power from your USB is failing. Try uninstalling the USB drivers reboot PC/Laptop and when asked reinstall this may resolve otherwise look for things between your PC/Laptop that could interfear with signal XBox 360 Wireless mouse and keyboard? Kind regards
