Hello,
I've been trying to play my sims 2 game for a few days now nd it WOLL NOT RESPOND! Yesterday at first it came up a message "Please insert the original sims 2 Bon Voyage Disc and press okay". After time and time again trying to play it I restarted the computer a few times and th game finnaly loaded. It was running a little slow the first time, so I restarted the game and it loaded MUCH quicker. I went on to the tutorial and it went to the Not Responding" state. I waited and then quit, and I tried again. This time i went to a neighborhood (Pleasant View) and then to "Create a family". It was fine for quite a while, then the same error occured again. I quit, started the game again, went to the same neighborhood and started plaing the "Goth" family. It was fine and I managed to save it, then a little while later (while I was building a new house on a new lot) another error occured (Game has crashed, Aborting...) I couldn't remember the rest. I have an acer aspire 5720 laptop and it uses Windows Vista.I have enough space more than enough left in my drive (drive D), 58.1 GB. Thismorning it is back to the "Insert original disc" error. I have done a system restore and it doesn't seem to help. I have also sat the stands on two long plastic pncil cases to help the heat escape from underneath so it doesn't overheat. I have read on othe sites that people with my laptop using windows vista have been able to play the game, and my computer meets the system rquirments I'm sure as other Acer Aspire laptop owners using vista have been able to play it. However, I don't know how to find out if have a 1.3GHz processor can you tell me? And please, if ANYONE has ANY solutions please help! I have re-installed the game before as well, just to let you know. And, if the sims 2 wont work on my laptop, will the sims 3? I want to get it if it will work on vista and laptops.
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0
I have a Acer Aspire T671-TB7Z computer and i have the simes2 double deluxe and the sims2 mansion and garden stuff the work ok but when i got the sims2 glamour life stuff it would not work i could install it but when i went to play it it said "you have the wrong disc in please insurt the sim2 mansion and garden stuff" and i had the right game in so i uninstalled all my sims games but when i went to install the sims2 double deluxe i could`nt.

If you can't run it on vista, try this: With your CD-ROM in your computer, open your start menu and select "search." Type in "compatibility" and select the System Compatibility Wizard. Choose the settings appropriate to run the game on Windows XP, and it the computer runs the game as if it is on XP. If the Vista is the problem, I hope this helps a little. :) |
