Need to turn on web cam on inspiron 9

Hello, I have a friend with a new Dell Inspiron 9 note book and his web cam has gone off and we need to know how to make it active again. Was working at first.

I presume you are talking about the Mini 9 Inspiron with the 1.3 Megapixel webcam,?
Are you looking for hte Dell Video Chat application, Have you tried the Dell Support Center?

Did you check you Device properties settings on you laptop..i.e. device manager?

Is webcam central running ? If yes..then..

Run msconfig and remove anything in startup that has anything do with the webcam.

Reboot
Click on Webcam Central after reboot..is it working now ?

When you are finished using Webcam Central, right click its icon in the systray and remove the check marks from everything and click exit.
