- need a rom bios system password for my dell 4700 series computer to start it up. We changed a few things to it and now it won't do anything without it and I don't have it.

You may need to call dell in order to reset your bios password
- try 3 wrong password then you will get a service tag something like" XXXXXXX-595B"
- call dell and give them the service tag, they give a password that will you unlock you labtop
I hope this will help you

Next time buy an IBM., They're made well and their hardware is second to none.
The D.O.D (Dept. Of Defense) Use's nothing but IBM'S !!! Something to think about !
Dell contracts to the lowest bidder., Hence their IT dept. is alway's slammed !!!
The commercial on tv should of said: Dude you're getting an IBM !!!!! :-)

It is NOT possible to reset a Bios password just by removing the cmos battery you will need professional assistance.

If you want to try DELL they will ask you original recipt and photo ID in order to proof ownership of the laptop

I unlocked My Dell Latitude Bios password with 595b Service tag termination in www.laptoprebirth.com They gave me very good service and it worked like a charm!!!!

Thank you and hope this helps.
