Hello,
When installing Sims2: Deluxe it's just not working. It would stop at 22% and this would pop-up (and I know it's not my computer because I just had to un-install it because I got a new computer, but it won't install on my new one) the pop-up would say: "A problem occured when trying to transfer the file 'E:\Base\TSData\Res\Sims08.package' from the media. Do you want to retry to copy the file, or cancel the installation?"
It says that. And I have NO CLUE WHAT IT MEANS! I need a very smart person to tell me how to get thhe sims game (that I payed $30 for) works! Please help me!!! Oh, and when I press "retry" it just goes up 2 more % but doesn't actually install anything past 22% (when it stops).

Configuration: Windows Vista
Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi,
there may be a problem in the DVD and it cannot read it.
try to explore the DVD and find the file, copy it and then paste it in the required folder, that is:
Base > TSData > Res

Hello, my installation did like that too. when it's get to 41% then a pops up say that blah-blah-blah.package, from the media.
first i "retry" it, but now i suggest that all you have to do is just "cancel" it. Then, take out The Sims disk, take in again, and Auto Run / install it again. i hope this will works on yours, because when i did this, it works and the installation went up till 100%. good luck!
sorry 4 the bad english...

Yeah i had this problem and what i did was when the pop up came saying auto run and view files press viefiles. Then go to TSData and then Res then sims3D then what you gotta do is go down and find the file saying sims08, you then have to copy it into the folder called Res then heopefully your game will work...

But i had a problem saying there is not enough space on your computer when i tried to copy the file so I went to start menu, control panel, programs and then uninstall hardware and software then just uninstall the crap you have installed :D then it shoulod work, if it doesnt then tell me i might know what to do XD hope this helps

Hello tazz. i have the same problem as Cassie. So i have completed installed the sims2 Deluxe. and it says "Please Wait........" and after that, a window came out and it says "The installation has completed successfully. Would you like to: ...." So i clicked "Launched the Sims2" and clicked "Finish" and then another window came out it says "Please insert disk number 1" so i insert disk number 1 and i clicked "OK". After that sims2 is running, then another window came out "Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application" what is that mean? i only have 4 CDs of Sims2 Deluxe. is there any other CD of sims2 for playing? and I already tried uninstall and re-install it again so many times. more than 5 times already. and it still not working. i really want to play this sims2. what can i do to solve the problem?

Sometimes the computer can't poping up the automatic installation.
all u've to do is just do it manually. open my computer and double click on the sims disk. the installation will do automatically

It's a dvd... you probably don't have a DVD drive.
