Hello,
I'm having trouble installing my Sims 2 game, this is the first one I have ever brought. It will spin in the disc drive but nothing will come up even when I go to my computer there is nothing there like it doesnt read it, but when I put the disc in on my computer at work it does work. I think because my one at work is a DVD reader, my computer at home says it is a CD/DVD drive but its not reading the disc, is there any way I can get it to read the disc, or would I need to get a DVD drive??

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.8

Hi,
if it is written as CD/DVD drive, then it should be able to read the disk.
it may be that the drive is damaged.
in order to be able to read the disk, you need to get another DVD drive.

Hey,

I had the same problem. I put it in the disc drive and for some strange reason nothing popped up. I even looked in my documents and it said that there was nothing in that particular disc drive. However, I then tried it on my brother's laptop and it recognized the disc. I even went over to my grandparents house, and their computer is just like the one I have, and it worked. unfortunatel, i cannon find the little papers that have the code in it. hahaha. So, your only options are use a friend's computer or get a new disc drive.

Hey guys, ok so i installed Sims 2. It says the installation is complete and then it tells me to put the first disk back in. But when i do that and go to play the game... It looks like the game is about to load and then BOOM! I get some stupid message saying it can't locate the disk... So how can it install completely and then not be able to find the disk? I'm confused and don't know what do to... I have a Dell Inspiron 1721. Windows Vista... i'm wondering if that's part of the problem. Vista and well Dell... Ya both suck, so they majorly suck when combined! Ugh... So sick of Vista.... and Dell!

Hi I uninstalled the sims 2 to put it on a hardrive (called the MAXTOR)and now it wont reinstall! it stops at 13% and says TSData/Res/Sims3D/Sims13.package do you want to retry or cancel the instalation.I click retry and it goes up a couple of numbers then the same thing pops up. I press retry until it gets to 100%. every 10 minutes or so the retry thing keeps popping up. it happens with disc 1. I've installed it on this computer before (IBM Windows Vista computer)and it worked fine but now its stuffing up. I've tried copping the discs into disk images files and renaming the installshield and all that but it still doesn't work what should I do?
