Vista can't find Downloads

Hello,



I downloaded a small application (wheelmouse.zip) and saved it in Program Files. Not only does it not display in Program Files but Vista says it can't find it! The download process seemed to go OK! I am very new to Vista and this is my first download attempt. Any suggestions on why this file can't be found?

Program files isn't a good place to stash and uninstalled program. That's were installed programs are kept.

Attachments too. I download them to the desktop, the icon appears then dissapears. Pulling what's left of my hair out.

Yeah same here. I've tried downloading them to ANYWHERE and it doesn't work. Any file too.

If anyone has a solution PLEASE inform me. Thanks a lot, Joel

am findin the same problem...
i guess downloading from a p2p software is going fine..
i couldn't download anything from IE(guess its stuffed)
so i downloaded a version of mozilla from my p2p and installed it and tried downloading from it...
that worked...
but still i need IE....lol
anyone get an answer please post....
and everyone please post complaints in microsoft or vista sites..
hope they'll try to get an answer...

Go to your c or whatever drive Vista is on> users> your name> then to downloads > double click and install

The well-intentioned "solution" of going to a download folder is WORTHLESS.

BEEN THERE - DONE THAT. Nothing (nothing) works to find downloaded files.

I've used every possible way of searching "everything" with WORTHLESS VISTA SEARCH and come up with nothing.

I see many many others with the same problem and see no "remedy" that ACTUALLY WORKS. ZILCH.
