How big are the files you are moving? I recently tried to copy an 8 gig file to my Toshiba drive and if failed. It turns out that files over 4 gig cannot be moved. Hope this is of some help.

Hi My Toshiba External Harddrive 320 was working perfect until a week ago when it started to show as a new hardware and requiring drivers. Some days it works, and on others it doesn't. What could be the solution?.

As for the 4 gig limit....You'll have to change the file system from FAT32 to NTFS on the external HDD. There is a procedure in XP to do this without corrupting your current files. As always, feel free to double check this info with someone else.
thanks.
