How increase my wifi speed

Hi......
I use BSNL brodband. it also avilabale via wifi. I conect my leptop, but its speed is only 20kb/s,
SO Please tell me what can i do.

Configuration: Windows XP
Opera 9.63

Are you sur that your PC and your Wifi router are within range? First of all get near to the Wifi router to check the speed.....
