Javascript/Adobe Flash Player Problem

Hello,
I cannot get any YouTube videos to play...message says Javascript is off, please instruct me on how to turn it on, and also when I download Flash Player 10 it says it successfully downloaded but doesn't work....Thanks for any advice to resolve these problems.
