Hello,

Please help me how to get rid of the Malware Defender 2009. My daughter somehow managed to get this virus from downloading a video in the internet. I have been searching the internet and I've seen few software that will scan and get rid of it, however, I can't even log into the internet in her laptop.

I'm just a stay-at home Mom and not a computer savvy but to save money I thought I kill this virus myself but unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful doing so.

This is what I have done so far?

1. Add/Delete program in Control Panel ---- this didn't work. it keeps coming back.
2. I've done: run regit something and it took me to a window in the Registry Editor... Boy.. there's so many of them I don't even know which registry I need to delete.
3. I've done run-- "cmd" I don't even know which dll files to delete.

Your advise is very much appreciated and thank you so much in advance.U

Configuration: Windows XP

Hello Again,

Thanks for your response. Any advice in a case where you can't log in the internet? Is there any website you know what files I can delete? I'm running her laptop on safemode right now.

Thanks again.
