Wifi through laptop to use on the Xbox

Hello, I have a problem!!

What i have:

-modem
-wireless router hooked to modem
both of which are on the other side of the house

also i have

-XP laptop with wireless internet connection (the only way the laptop has internet on it)
-the orginial Xbox with only one ethernet port on backside
- I have multiple ethernet cords but only ONE port on the back of each the XBOX and the XP LAPTOP


Problem:

Is there a way i can connect the xbox via the ethernet cord into the back of the laptop and use the wifi on the laptop in order to get internet connection on the xbox to play xbox live?

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7.0

Yes.
I connected my Laptop to my xbox 360 via an Ethernet cable as a temporary fix to get on Xbox live until I could get a wireless adapter. It worked. You have to make a few minor tweaks on your laptop, like sharing the internet connect, but thats about it. Good luck!!
