Alternative power solution?

Hello,
I have a compaq that apparently has an issue with the ac pin breaking or something. I heard that the pin that supplies the power is connected to the mother board and it's already broken 2 times. Is there any other way to plug the laptop into an outlet using some other type of connection? I am trying to avoid using the same connection to power it up. Am I crazy to think that there is another way to connect the laptop maybe through the battery compartment or something?

You cannot connect the the power supply in any other way.
