Hello,
I am having a problem. My laptop LCD screen broke and I don't have the money to replace it, but what I do have is a extra Monitor. I want to hook my laptop up to this monitor but I can't see what I am doing with the screen broken. I wanted to know if there was any buttons I could press when the computer starts up to make it show up on the external monitor. I have tried pressing Fn + F4 but that didn't work. I have a HP Pavilion dv9000. Please Help.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.8

You could try Fn + F3 - that combo is used on some laptops to enable the external monitor. Good Luck

I had the same problem start your laptop and press f8 when it first starts loading then press the option t start it in safe mode. when you get it started in safe mode go into your control panel then int the hadware and click n the device manager click the display adapters an disable the display adapter, then restart your computer annd the external monitor will work.
