No sound in windows xp sp3

Hello,
i istalled win xp sp3 n ihv da same prob....no sounds....i dont hv an exclamation mark under sound,game controllers...instaed i hv an exclamation mark under OTHER DEVICES on PCI MODEM........
whn i open my sound and audio devices it shows "NO AUDIO DEVICE FOUND"
wht shud i do??
