How do u play dvds on imac computers

Hello, I just got an imac about a week ago and I'm not really use to this system nut I have been trying to play DVDs on the computer and whenevr I put one in, it comes out like 5 seconds later. What do I need to do or download so I can watch DVDs on the computer?
