How do u play dvds on imac computers

Hello, I just got an imac about a week ago and I'm not really use to this system nut I have been trying to play DVDs on the computer and whenevr I put one in, it comes out like 5 seconds later. What do I need to do or download so I can watch DVDs on the computer?

If your imac has dvd driver you can play your DVD on your imac directly.
But if your imac has no dvd driver you should rip your dvd to popular video and then play it on your popular video player such as quicktime and other commen video players.
