I had the same problem. I had a screen on my desktop computer that I connected to it, then I rebooted the computer. Function F4 switches to the monitor and then I switched back. It seems to work now. Don't really know why it stopped working in the first place.

I read on another forum to take out the battery pack and put i back in again.

I have the same problem right now. I cannot get my hp 6000 laptop to show a screen. It happened suddenly, while just surfing the web and it went black. I don't have a battery, so plugging and unplugging doesn't help any. Any updates or solutions??? I tried removing the ram, plugging into external monitor, ... nothing works. The lights on the computer just light up but no display on lcd. It doesn't sound like it is really "working" in the background, just sitting there idle.

Thanks
