Hello,my laptop crashed now its asking me for boot password,if i press f8 its says entering boot menu plz wait and auto detecting ide devices then back to enter password plz help im a novice ,windows xp

Try this as password: "ok"
if it does not work, you may reset the CMOS settings by removing the CMOS battery.
then you will be able to access the BIOS without any password prompt.

Hi there tried typing "ok" didnt work just says password strings dont match, i have took small panels off back of laptop what does cmos battery look like my laptop is packerd bell easy note 1000 windows xp, thanks for helping me
