Same problem with Need for Speed Undercover. I installed the game, but when i double click the icon, it inmediatly crashes back to desktop with the message: "Need for Speed Undercover doesn't work anymore and will be closed" (translation from dutch).

So I have not even seen the game or an intro movie or anything at all.

My system:
- Intel Core 2Duo 6400 (2x 2.13ghz)
- 4Gb Ram @ 800mhz
- Nvidia XFX 8800GTX 756Mb (with latest drivers)
- Windows Vista 64-bit
- Direct X 10

I had the same problem with NFS Carbon, but I found the problem there. I was able to play it one time, until the game was saved in a profile. After that it always crashed to desktop on start up. Deleting that profile in the Windows explorer made it possible to restart the game and make a new profile, with the same problem as a result.
Now when I play it, I do the following:
- copie the profile to another map (you can find it in your user account under documents and than NFS Carbon)
- delete this file (do not just move it to another map, the problem than remains)
- start the game (do not make a new profile)
- switch to windows and move the file back to the NFS Carbon map
- switch back to the game and load your profile (you can continue playing)

If anyone has a solution to my Undercover problem, please let me know!

Greetz.

I called EA and the reason for it crashing is becayse you have an insufficient graphics card. You most likely have a laptop. with a smaal graphics card not built for gaming. If you have a tower either by the game for a different system or install a graphics card. This is demonstrated on youtube many times. If the problem still persists and you know you have a proper graphics card, go to run and type dxdiag. this will bring up you system information. This will tell what you need to see if NFS works with your system. Hope this helps!
