Cannot install Msn

Hello,
I had a 8.5 version of msn messenger .. wnted 2 get the latest version 2 b downloaded tht is the 9th version so i downloaded the installation file n wen it was installing my comp got hanged n resarted after which neither had the new version instaled n the 8.5 vrsion was removed...so wen i try installing the 9.0 version again it says msn messenger is already installd n if i try 2 install the 8.5 or other previous version it says u need 2 uninstall msn live .... but msn live isnt there i hav checkd the control panel & the program files.....so i ahv 2 use the oldest version of msn...SO PLZ REQUIRED HELP.... !!

try to do a system restore to set your computer to a date before you uninstalled the 8.5 version of msn.
