Hi my name is Marco,
My PC - WIN XP detects the USB L: drive and tells me it is ready for use but when i try and open the drive it comes up with an 'Insert Disk' message.
Disk Manager does not show the drive but it allows me to change it's letter (bottom right of the screen)
The USB drive doesn't show up in Recuva either
Help!!

Hello

No doubt that your pen drive has been physically damaged and pen drives cannot be repaired.

Sorry

The pen drive is in as new order- it started playing up only after i used it on a Desktop PC at a clients office- maybe did not eject the drive prior to removing it :-(

Currently after having deleted the appearance of it in Device manager and restarting my laptop the pen drive again shows up as ' New device installed and ready to use' but when i try to access the files a message comes up asking me to "insert a disk into F: drive"

In Disk Manager F: drive shows up as 'no media'

Any ideas?

"maybe did not eject the drive prior to removing it" that will damage a pen drive.

Looks like this is the case- I will discard the pen drive as unrepairable

Thanks for your help
