Cable company came and "upgraded" the router/modem..In doing so the ip changed for the security cameras and access point I had configured on static ip. The cable company is on a dynamic ip, I simply want to add a second linksys router to the network so I can configure from the linksys ..they will not allow you to log in to there router..tech support on there end will not help at all. Lan to Wan is ideally I think is what I need to set up.. Here is what I need to configure..
1. Additional router
2.Configure Access Point Ubiquity NanoStation2
3.Assign a static ip for security camera system

as far as your concern the router provided by the ISP is just a terminal on your LAN, so you don't need to configure it as much as you need to configure your LAN itself.
so as long as the ISP router is connected to your LAN it should distribute internet or other services provided by ISP.
the best way is to get your ISP to give you the proper IP and DNS for the router as it's considered a gateway for your network.

Tried asking for that information and they will not provide any info at all about the ip, I can see 2 dns servers..I went to canyouseeme.org .shows public ip ..need to know what to input to configure on a second router 24.177.188.××
Sub 255.255.255.0. The main thing is to get the access point going again..Thank you for your reply.. never had so much trouble before
