Hello,
I bought a netbook and have created iso images of my Sims2 disks. I have installed all 4 disks on the netbook with no problem using a virtual cd. I cannot play however, I get the "please insert the correct CD" message. I have verified that the Sims2_1 file is loaded into the same virtual cd drive as I had used to install but still no luck. Any ideas? I have had no trouble with my Rollercoaster Tycoon game.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.7

Hi,
it may be that the game needs the CD to play, even though you have already installed it.
try to make a copy of the CD and then insert it when you try to play the game.

Typically you will need a decent cd emulation tool (google: Daemon tools) and a decent iso taken from the original cd (or mini-iso file that has just the essential protection check parts)

I have a similar problem. i'm trying to play UT04 and the settlers.
every time i run the virtual disc (ISO file) it asks for the original disc. this is the same on both games, several virual disc programes and i even went as far as to disable my Physical CD drive and re-letter my virtual drive as the same letter.
Now, DVD ISO images run fine. i've watched most my DVD's without the slightest problem. but games are still not working.
i installed both games from the virtual drive, that was fine.
I am also running vista, if this is a problem let me know.

Alternatively, use NetDVD, see http://www.bluelionsoftware.co.uk.

NetDVD allows you to play DVD movies, audio CDs, games and install applications on a netbook, and to burn DVDs. NetDVD adds a virtual DVD drive to your netbook, which connects to a real DVD drive on another computer on your LAN/WLAN.
