Hello
A few questions come to mind here, first, did you check the md5sum for the iso image you ownloaded (If the image was corrupted during download, you may still be able to boot the CD, but other parts of the disk may not work correctly)? Second, if the image passes the md5sum check, did you burn the disk too fast (I always make it a practice to burn images at no more than half the rated speed of either the disk or the burner - whichever is slowest)? If the disk was burned too fast, file corruption can occur, although the disk usually proves to be unusable. Third, is it possible the disk has a flaw?. After ruling out any of the above, check to see if there is a readme document on the CD. If so it may contain information that may prove helpful. Alternatively, check on the distribution's WEB site for a user forum or mailing list. |
I just installed yesterday, keyboard worked correctly. Perhaps it only likes ps2 or only usb? Does a mouse work, I forget.
I was installing on an old system with on-board video, it wouldn't install. Put in a pci 16 meg card, riva tnt, and it installed just fine. Of course then after it detected the intel sound, when it finished and rebooted, it changed the x driver to an i810, which didn't work. Had to manually go back in and put nv in the xorg.conf file. good luck, it works good, but doesn't have mp3 support out of the box. Had to go to a site called fluendo and register and download their mp3 install. got the rpm file and installed with rpm -i filename.rpm and now mp3's work great. This was recommended on the fedora wiki. This machine was a celeron 1.1 512 megs ram 20 gig hd, dvd burner... it got everything just fine and seems to run plenty fast. Nice distro so far. But their site is down now... probably the Olympics :) regards |
