Hello,
I'm receiving a message that states,

"Either date and time settings are incorrect, or the Digital Certificate File is not valid or installed on your computer. If date and time are correct, see your Network Administrator to Verify that your Digital Certificate File is valid and installed."

It's a home Computer that I've ran Messenger on previously. Not sure why this is coming up.
I'm running 10.5.6 Mac OS X on my G5 Desktop..

HELP !!!

TIA

Configuration: Mac OS X
Safari 525.27.1

Hi budy!
I was having same problem. And I tried another solution.
I use Application Zapper ! The software is deleting all Messenger file and directory in your drive. And cleaned up.
Then go to Microsoft Mactopia web site and download is a clean Messenger.Set up and use. That's it...
The cause is old messenger files!!!
Have nice mac days ;)

I followed your step and download app zapper to get rid of all my MSN files. I zapped it and everything was removed. I re-downloaded MSN from the site you supplied. Went through the setup process fine but when I went to sign in again i received the same error message again (Either date and time settings are incorrect, or the digital file certificate is not valid....). Do you have any other suggestions? I have tried the whole keychain solution without result, What certificate am I supposed to be looking for?

Thank you all! I also had the same problem and the solution was Macturco's. I used AppZapper to delete both messenger and another related file. Then I re-installed messenger and that's all. Thanks again.

Hi guys, I have just done a reinstall on my new macbook air and when I installed Messenger 7 I am getting that same error. I tried that appzapper program but that didnt fix the problem.
Any ideas other than a system restore as this install is only 12 hours old, surely it cant be that.

Worked great. Ran AppZapper and dragged Microsoft Messenger from the Applications folder and zapped it. Downloaded the messenger again from Microsoft and it installed and went through to look for old versions (which I let it do even though I figured it would find none) and it came up with none. Everything went smooth and I was able to sign right in!

Thanks for the help guys!

Hi guys,

I did the repair, initially and it didnt fix the problem.
I tried a few other things with no success so I tried the repair again.
This time I did, the repair, the verify and the two verifty permissions and disk permissions (or something along those lines - all 4 options which were there).
And when I restarted it worked!! It took about 30 mins, and msn is now working perfectly.

Thanks for your help.
Joel.
