I didn't exactly lose my restore disk, but managed to use the one that came packed with my PC to reinstall windows on an old laptop for which I didn't have a disk. I contacted Microsoft directly and they gave me a distinct set of access keys for the second computer... I think if you have proof of purchase or ownership of your computer they will provide you with the means of accessing recovery software or even a replacement CD. They need all the good press they can get at the moment and I found them helpful. I made my first contact via the free windows activation phone number and consequently communicated by e-mail. Restoring what you've lost, as opposed to reinstallation, should still be possible... Google it!

It's a free toll number and depends what country you're in... the number is listed on the Windows disk as part of the installation process and never changes for the life of the edition of Windows... I'm sure if you have access to a second computer you should be able to look it up online, or even download the equivalent of a recovery CD to boot from a USB stick. Maybe you should be looking in a Microsoft related forum... the answer is out there.

You can buy Toshiba System Recovery or Restore discs (CDs or DVDs) from this company:
They have all Toshiba Satellite laptops, including Toshiba Satellite M305, E105, L355, L355D, U405, U405D, and so on. I don't know what your model is, but look at their website and very likely they'll have it for sale:

http://www.digitalmedia-labs.com .

They keep prices very low and ship right away, free shipping in the USA. Best place to get what you need.
Good luck
