Help networking in room

Hello,



Hey guys, I have a question to ask but I'm not exactly sure how to word it properly so I'll do my best.

Okay, my room is pretty far from the server room where the router is located. Wiring has been put in my house to where there is an Ethernet jack in my wall. The problem is that I have 2 PC's in my room that want to access the internet, but there is only one jack in the wall. I was wondering if I could add some sort of switch from that one port to where I can connect both computers to the internet simultaneously?

Hello


Um, a hub is a hub unless it's a switch. A switch is a switch unless it's a hub. But a hub is not a switch which is not a hub.

Better to add a switch. A simple 4 port jobby should be very cheap. But a hub would work also, may be harder to find retail. Either way your good to go.
