Dell dimension 4600 diskette drive 0 failure and wont open boot

Hi,
I have an old dell dimension 4600 desktop and as soon as I plugged it in and booted it up it said diskette drive 0 seek failure and it never had any option to load the blue bootup screen using f2 or f12 so im stuck and dont know what to do. Is there a way to fix this, or parts that I need to buy? Im not very computer savvy but I do know a little about computers, and I WOULD go into the bios to switch the drive it boots first but I cant even access the bios. After like 5 failures it says it failed at checkpoint Vcls if someone could help id be very apreciative^~^

You should be able to change the BIOS to ignore the floppy error. Something like "halt on all errors" or "ignore all errors". With such a old computer you might need to replace the CMOS battery as a first step. Then I would check the floppy cable and make sure the floppy is connected to the last connector on the cable. It's probably not worth spending only money to fix this old piece of junk.
