Hello,

i dont know much about computer. My husband bought me an aspire one (linux) for my birthday. I decided to put a password, turned my netbook on and hit F2, then immediatey set up the passwords. I then decided to switched it off to see if everything is ok. so, switched it on, a black and blue screen appear "Please input password for Hitachi HTS543212L9A" started to key in my password that i just set up couple of minutes ago. It didnt recognise my password.( "password check fail"). i dont understand. Im sure im typing the right keys. Tried to do a recovery using flash drive but no success, still asking for the password.

what should i do? please help. thanks.

I had the same problem, then I found this step by step link

http://www.laptopmag.com/advice/how-to/aspire-one-apps.aspx?step=1

It will help you to change default password to your own...I am still struggling with Linus...:(

Yeah the same thing happened to me, what you have to do is push the caps lock before you type in your password, and if your password is more then 8 characters then it only uses the first 8, so just type in the first 8 characters of your password while using caps lock

Try using cap locks with your password.
