Some times Compaq V3000 AMD not starts proper

Hello,
My problem is that I have a Compaq Laptop of V3000 series with AMD 64bit processor. Generally I'm using Laptop on Power code but now it gives starting problem. When I switch on the Laptop, power comes but nothing displays on the screen. After 5-6 attempt of restarting, I thought that it may be betary problem so I remove the betary and starts with a power code after 2-3- attempt it was started. but again after 2 days it gives same problem so what is a reason ? My OS is windows-XP professional.

Configuration: Windows XP
Microsoft Internet explorer 6.0

Hi,
does it have any particular beeps when starting? any unusual beeps?
it may be a video card error.
try updating your video driver.
or you may try to repair your windows to see if it helps.

Hi,....i have the same problem with my V3000 64 amd. In my case the laptop does not start the first time and it starts the second time and this behaviour is very consistent. I have changes 3 OS(XP/Vista and Windows7)...the behaviour doe not change.

No, nothing displays totally black screen and no any kind of beep sound comes.
But after 2-3- attempt of restarting, when it suddenly starts and after displaying desktop screen, it gives new hardware found error, - 'base system'. to remove that - I'have removed/ Uninstalled from System Manager but again when system starts, it displays again & again what it needs ? I have already installed almost all drivers but still error comes is that driver problem ? what can I do in this situation ? My LAPTOP model is V2155AU. Pl. guide me.

Hi,

the same problem is with my compaq v3424au laptop..when i start it, it only lights up light indicators but my screen remains blank. i have to restart it 5 - 8 times.. i dont know why it is coming.. And i have noticed the base of my laptop becomes very warm .... i dont know whats wrong... all these compaq laptop sucks...
i will never buy compaq laptps

I have this HP compaq V3000 notebook. i faced this problem 4 months back. the service guy says the he has seen this problem earlier also only with comapq V3000 laptops.
He told me that some BJ chip has to be replaced and it worked fine for a week and again the same problem.
i got it repaired 2 times but no use. still the same problem.

I WILL NEVER BUY COMPAQ LAPTOPS :(

Could you please tell me what is a BJ chip? I just want to get my computer started one more time to get my data off the hard drive.

The problem with these type of notebok it's becuase the socket proccesor are de-solder, bacause the bad design and over-heating.

Compaq v3000 and dv2000 series has a manufacturing defect on motherboard which causes this problem.
Compaq has hence extended the warranty by 12 months to look into this.., so if ur lappy is less than 2 yrs old get it repaired for FREE. This scheme comes under limited warranty service ENHANCEMENT program.

Thanks KP, You saved my day, and my LAPTOP. These bastards (HP Compaq ppl) must have recalled these crap in the first place itself!
