This is a very huge topic to discuss

there a lot of things u need to know before u create a LAN

1) how many users will be using this technology
2) if less then 10 the Peer to Peer network is suitable
3) if more, then will u be using Microsft tech/or Ciscotechnolgy
4) what topology will be using
5) after a year from the time u create ur network, how many more users are u expecting to add up by then
6) what paltforms will u using 98/ME/xp/vista
7) wiil they be the same platforms / or a mixture of all
8) imp Q of all what is the reason for creating a lan? what are the privilages u will give to the users? what and how much info will be shared/used/created via lan
9) what do ur users want from lan
10) what does ur mangmnt wnat from lan
11) what are the security plans
12) how much reduncy are u & ue company willing to have
13) now the commerce part, what will ur Lan cost u and / or ur company . i.e. from the time of creting, to the time of implemating, and of course to maini the network? will it be profitable to the company? will the maintance cost be less than the profit gained by using the lan?
