I have had my Gateway laptop for a little over year and a half. One day i signed in and i couldn't connect to my Wi-fi so i shut the computer down and started it back up. Then it gave me an error screen saying a windows component was missing. So i called Gateway and they sent me recovery disks, and i tried those and on the third disk i got an error message saying it couldn't load a video file. So i downloaded Partition Recovery Wizard on another computer and burned it to a CD. I had made a previous post on bleeping computer.com and someone told me to format the hard drive i did that and nothing happened so i used the partition recovery wizard to find lost or deleted partitions and in came up with several but i tried restoring them and but it said my selections were invalid. So finally i wiped the disk and now i have a screen that says

No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

i dont have boot disk so now i am out of options
Solving this problem would be a big help :D thanks

This looks to be a failed hard drive. I suggest you take the PC to a local repair shop.

Good Luck
