Hi,
I am trying to get access to a 2,5 " SATA disk removed from a laptop. As interface I use a Roline USB 2.0 to S-ATA/IDE Converter. The SATA disk runs Vista and I have tried connecting it to both Vista and XP computers. In both cases the disk runs smoothly (nice purring sound), but I can not see it in Windows Explorer. I have also tried out in Safe Mode, but it does not show. Can anyone help me out? It would be really wonderful to get access to all my files. :-)

Do you have an option to power the hard drive from an external power source? Sometimes the HD needs more power than the USB port supplies.

Good Luck

Yes, the adapter has its own power source. And HD sounds as if it is working well.
