Hello,
when i start system i get "a disk read error occured press ctrl+del+alt to restart". i thought of using xp recovery console cd ,so i boot from cd and cd inspect system config... then it directly switch to option where it showing c drive as with unknown file system. ask me to install windows to selected area.
why it get bypass from repair option?
what should i do ?
please help

Boot to recovery console: Boot from XP CD. When its ready it will ask you to either: Hit 'R' for RECOVERY CONSOLE. OR Hit 'Enter' to install XP You want to "HIT R". --Remember don't be hitting the keyboard unless you are doing so for a specific reason.-- You can miss menu's if you do!! Once in Recovery console run 'chkdsk /p' and let it finish. it can take hours on a bad disk so let it go. The bigger the disk the longer it takes. Then I'd see if the disk was/is failed and start backups. |
