Heh, guys i have a problem with a hp laptop in installing windows xp.hard disk is not detected.i had tried bios settings to change ACHI to IDE but that options is also not avaliable help me in this.

Is your laptop has a previously installed os such as Win Vista or 7? and changing the controller in BIOS did not work? then the problem can be solved by following the instructions on this link:

Basically you need to create a custom windows xp CD and you need to download some drivers and copy them to the custom made OS.
