Help my sd card isn't recognized

Hello,
My name is isabella ,and i seeem to hve a problem getting my pictures onto my computer. Ihave an sd slot on the side of my toshiba laptop. A couple months ago whenever i plugged in my sd card , my computer recognized it and i was able to view my photos. Now, when i put it into the slot, it denies the card and doesnt even show up on the computer. I'm posotive that nothing is wrong with the card because I am able to seee the pictures on my camera or someone elses computer. My questions are, What is wrong with the slot on my laptop ? And How do I fix it ??

Please help me out -i appreciate it thank you.

Hi,
since the SD card is recognised on another computer, it results that the slot on the laptop is indeed faulty.
you wont be able to repair it on your own. if ity is still on warranty, contact your dealer or else you will have to pay for the cost.
well, you may also use an external card reader to read your SD card. it is cheap, so better you use it rather than paying a large sum of money repairingthe slot.

It is not uncommon for some laptops to be unable to recognize PCCard equipment, including USB PCCards and memory cards. This is often due to a software problem, such as a missing driver.
You can test your computer's PCCard connector by inserting a network card, which will normally work without the use of any special drivers. If the network card works, the computer and PCCard connector is OK, and you need to go looking for a software driver for the memory card. The maker of your laptop should have the required software available for download. If not, contact the computer maker's support department.

Buy a card reader . if your usb port is also damaged buy a usb hub
