Ipod is not recognized by itunes and pc!

help pls! i bought a second-hand ipod and just installed the latest version of itunes on my windows pc. i didn't like the contents of the ipod so i went ahead and reset/erase all content and settings on it. then i got a white screen of death but i got it all rebooted, but now it is not recognized by itunes nor my pc. and my ipod is stuck on the itunes logo with the picture of usb in it..help pls!
