Isn't there any programs in the start menu, or maybe goto network connections and try setting up an automatic wifi connection. I have some desktops on a wireless and they are setup to connect automaticly when they boot. Does the laptop have something similer or is your problem with the actual power button on the outside of the laptop for wifi connection?
