managed to get to the run function to run regedit. ... I have no back-up for all my files, I know I am a fool for not backing up my files daily, ... Buddy OW, what was your problem before this? avoid regedit like the plague if you havent backed up your registry and all your other files, its way to easy to cripple your system!!!!

Yes i'd def stick in the cd and press R for repair, it might help
