What error? That error can more than likely lead to the correct fix. Please respond with error, and the model of your machine would possible help.

If you have a windows 7 disk, get into bios, and turn the boot device to cd/dvdrom and put disk in. It will spinup and ask what do you wish to do. Select repair. Its sounds like your hard drive is bad, and chkdsk from cd will check and repair for you if it is a disk error.

If you have never logged into bios, then you are better to take it to a repair shop, and it is not a 1 2 3 fix. You must be able to logically think about what task you are trying to perform, so if you have never logged into bios, take it to get repaired.

Do you have any methods to make a USB disk? Like a freinds house, or a computer lab? So, then get into bios and change boot device to usb. Once you get into a lab, then Microsoft gives you the means to make a USB bootable to repair. Let me know if you are interested in this route?

You will need at least 4 GB, sorry so long to respond....

Here is the link to microsoft

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

You can download the ISO also. If you already have a valid license, then you can apply your license, you may have to call microsoft to get a new license, but as long as it all legit, I have never been challenged by Microsoft concerning a failed license.
