My xbox cant connect to xbox live

I have an xbox arcade some of my friends said u cant get xbox live with an arcade but other people say u can and i pluggede my ethernet cord into the xbox and the tower and it sais network adapter disconnected. any advice?

Get a router and a wirelesse adapter beacause its more connected to the internet, arcade cant really connect with a wire to your computer beacause its not compatible so tryit i know beacause i am a worker with microsoft so try it and if it dosnt work email me back at mathieugingras@hotmail.com and il try to connect you to the network.

I have a xbox 360 and just yesturday i bought a wirless network adaptor and i still cant connect to xbox live i use to connect through ethenet cable but decided to get wirless when i try to sign into live it comes up with cant connect to router or modem thought ip address and i have tried static and atomatic and the dhcp is enabled and automatic i have rang up the router help desk xbox help desk and my modem help desk and it still doesent work

Hey Matt i have an xbox pro and when i try to hook the ethernet cable up to my computer. windows xp, When i test my xbox connection it will connect to the network but not the internet, what should i do???I have tried letting it figure the things automatically and also tried it manually. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, i just bought xbox live for my 360 and i am new to live and i typed my ip address and all that stuff in and when i go to connect it says i couldnt connect but under network config it says im connected, i have an arcade xbox 360 and would like to get live up and running

Hey,

You wanted to know where to get you IP address and DNS info etc.? The easiest way (Microsoft XP) Click "Start" then "Control Panel" then go to "Network and Internet Connections" then "Network Connections" then open the connection that says "Connected" then go to the "Support" tab and click "Details". By doing this it will give every bit of info you need to manually hook up your Xbox console.

Yeah I have the same problem, with my xbox arcade. I have been trying to hook it up for the past 3 days and I added the MAC address to my router, I took off the firewall on my pc, I tried static and automatic IP setup. I tried everything but it looks like everyone is having problems with arcade? If anyone finds a solution PLEASE send me an e-mail.

This is pure hogwash, I have an xbox arcade and it DOES connect through a wire, it works for me, and why the heck would they put a router port on it if it didnt work.......think about it dummies

I have an arcade and i get on live every day so that's a lie. an arcade 360 can connect to the internet. another lie is that you can't connect it via ethernet cable to a computer using wireless internet cause I did that yesterday. so those are lies but i'm having the same problem with my box today. yesterday i got on live and today i can't.

Evryone listen(it all depends on the model you buy,because of models that havent work, somme of your xbox will work, now make sure that the ip adresse are the same and all information will work. now just to let you know that i no longuer work with microsoft,my new buisnesse is a free buisnesse on msn messenger and i am open 7pm-10pm somme days and weekends i am open 7pm-11 pm so contact me on msn and add mathieugingras@hotmail.com and i will see if i can help you.
