My extensa 5620 laptop suddenly stopped working. The virus may be corrupted the windows or the hard disk may be damaged or have bad sectors. acer have an alt+f10 option to recovery the factory settings. for me it is not working. it shows that it works for few moments, then nothing happens. I contacted with the acer email support and bought the recovery CD. The recovery CD also does the smae thing. it shows "windows is loading file", then after a while the CD stop spinning and the hard disk stop blinking. Nothing happens after that. Just a blank screen with a mouse curser in the middle. I also tried the F8 button to boot in the safe mode. but that also didn't work. Now as I am just out of the warranty (1 year and two months). so I don't get any telephone support from the acer. anyhelp from anybody is highly apreciable. I tried to use an XP bootable CD just to check if I can scan for any bad sector, but that was unsucceful as XP system boot couldn't recognize the hard drives.
