Hello,

Is it possible to grab cell data from other Excel spreadsheets to input into another ?

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Hai

Open both workbooks.

Select the cell in the destination workbook that you want to contain data from the source (Jan-Feb) workbook.

Type in the equal sign but don't hit enter.

Use your cursor and navigate to the cell in the Jan-Feb workbook that has the data you want. When you click the cell in the Jan-Feb workbook, you'll see the dotted lines around it and the formula in the formula bar.

Hit enter or click the green check mark.

Eventually, when you save both files, the formula will get updated (automatically) with the full path name of the Jan-Feb workbook. When Jan-Feb is closed you'll see the full path in the formula bar of the destination workbook, when it's open you won't.

Note: If you move the Jan-Feb workbook, the other workbook won't be able to find it. It takes a balance of having the files open and resaving them in the correct order to update the links, or you can use the Edit Links button to fix the links.

Hi,

I have seen you been helping other in excel formula. I have some queries if u can help me i will be grateful to you.

I have a worksheet which have five column, take for example cell A1=+1, B1=+2, C1=-2 & D1=+2 the sum of all is there in cell E1=+3

NOW i want to copy the whole data A1=+1, B1=+2, C1=-2 , D1=+2 & E1=+3 when the dat in e1>=2 into the other sheet. If i change the data of any one cell from a1 to d1 similarly the sum in e1 will change.

My queries is

1. If the value in e1>=+2 the whole data should copy to other worksheet
2. If the value in e1>=+5 (i.e the increase by +3) than it should copy.
3. Similarly the value in e1>=+8 or +11 or 14 or 17 and so on (i.e increase by +3) it should copy
4. now if it fall by take for eg e1=17 after it fall to e1=14 it should copy the whole row

what i mean by this any addition or subraction by + or - 3 it should reflect for example as mention below

20,-17,-14,-11,-8,-5,-2, 0 , 2 , 5 , 8 , 11 , 14 , 17 , 20

here 0 is the center the data should record from +or -2

i know there is a big query to write or may be VB script

if u can help me i will be very much greatful.
