Call the HP phone support and get them to walk thru the procedure. They can order a recovery CD - it costs $15 to $20.

Hey mate,

I bought a HP Pavillon 6500 from a computer store about a year ago and did not receive a Windows Vista CD either. HP laptops have the Recovery/Boot CD partitioned on the hard disk so when you boot your laptop, press F11 at the black screen and it will load the system recovery process.

From this point you can either choose to perform a system recovery or complete format.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Shawn

I think you don't get any. There is a Partition with the recovery files in your computer. Just press F11 on the splash screen (when your laptop boots) and you'll be driven to the recovery mode. Just follow the steps there.

You can create HP 6700 (or 6500 or others) recovery disk. HP gives that option, but be careful, don't stuff up like me. HP does not say you're only allowed to try once!! Hence prepare yourself and try to make the disk in one go. It would block you of if you tried again, coming up with notice that you're allowed only once to copy even if you couldn't copy in the first one. That's what happened to me so used my second option of searching for rar (God bless Rapidshare files) under the HP 6700 recovery disk. O.K. Here it's your first option on HP pavillion computer:

1) Go to "start"

2) All programs

3) Recovery Manager

4) Recovery disk creation

Bol şans !
