Toshiba laptop wont start

Went to boot up my laptop and got nothing, screen doesn't come on at all, I can hear the fan going but nothing happens. Tried unplugging it and removing the battery, holding the power button down for 2 to 3 minutes then plugging it back in without the battery and turning it on still nothing, actually done that several times. Any ideas?

So I tried that and no, it didn't work. any other ideas before I have to shell out 400 dollars to have the thing fixed? or decide that I will never buy a Toshiba again?
