Hello,
Can you please help me? I am running Windows98SE on my home PC. I know my PC is a bit outdated but its otherwise pretty healthy! I have 16 files that NAV has identified as Trojan.Brisv.A!inf. My NAV product cannot remove or quarantine them. It seems my son mistakenly downloaded them as music files (MP3). I downloaded the Symantec removal tool and tried multiple times in "Safe mode" with no luck. The FixBrisv. removal program scans most of my C drive but doesn't complete it. I get an error message saying "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down". The details tab provides thie following.....

My technical skills are decent but this one is surely within Registry and beyond my ability. Most of the info and commentary I read is for newer OS's. Would prefer an automated removal method but since I recently lost my job, I don't want to risk paying for software that may not even work. Especially on this dinosaur. Manual removal is acceptable too as long as its detailed, and for win98. Any info you can provide is GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Thanks in advance~Jim
