i am trying to to populate a spreadsheet that if the date is less than 01/01/2013 then populate the cell with $500.00, if the cell is equal to or greater than 01/01/2013 then populate the cell with $38.46. What am I doing wrong? When I change the <> signs around one of the formulas works.

Here is the formula: =IF(B18<=1/1/2013,"$38.46","$500.00")

Hi Shaynajr,

That is because you didn't told Excel it is a date.

Try this:
=IF(B18>=DATE(2013,1,1),"$38.46","$500.00")

Best regards,
Trowa
