Software Counterfeiting
Last answer on Jun 3, 2009 5:59:57 am BST Pius, on Feb 18, 2009 9:41:20 am GMTHello, I have been encountering some problems on a computer I recently bought. Anytime I switch on my PC a starlike icon will appear with a message that reads "YOU MAY BE A VICTIM OF SOFTWARE COUNTERFEITING, THIS COPY DID NOT PASS GENUINE VALIDATION". Please help me rectify such a problem. Thanks for your usual unqualified support services in the world of ICT.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Awhile ago, this was automatically downloaded in an update, it basically checks if software on your computer is real or not. The message is aload of crap, reread it as such. Microsoft dont care if you are a victim or not you are using software of ours you didnt pay for. Im not sure can they mess with your computer but the might be able to stop you using whatever program is counterfeit. I actually dont know what it will do, i know people were pissed at the time because the software microsoft used for this basically amounted to spyware. My advice find out off your friend what exactly is counterfeit and get rid of it!!! |
