ps... the games were preowned. | You need to buy the sims 2 original game before downloading expansion packs (university etc) As expansions are only add ons to the original game (:

first of all do u have the sims 1 & 2 original ?? if you don't that is your problem amigo !!!!!!!
you see..if you look very carefully at the bottom left of the case near "system requirements" but a bit lower or in that area
or some times on the front in small print ..or may be there are none !
well now all u REALLY need is sims 1 and sims 2 original

then, press run...
type in regedit
press the little plus sign before HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
then press the plus before Software
press the plus before ea games or electronic arts
press the sims (wutevr u have)
finally press ergc.
on the very right u should see the code u put in to install the game.
