Desktop icons are appearing late

Hi friends.. I need your help on this issue.. so here it goes,

My Desktop icons are appearing late after I start the windows.. I have windows xp, core i5 3550, 4gb ram ddr3, 500 gb HDD..
All things were fine, till one day when computer shut down due to power cut suddenly.
I defragmented disks, error checked em, used Ccleaner, cut the no. of start up items on windows but nothing helps.. I think this problem has not began due to crowded applications but sumthing else..

Any ideas??

Go to start > run

type %appdata% and hit enter

when you need to do then is show hidden files (tools > folder options > view > show hidden files/folders)

delete the IconCache.db and restart the computer.

i can't find icon cache

Go to start > run

type %appdata% and hit enter

Go back one step while a windows opens. Go to Local
delete the IconCache.db and restart the computer.

Make sure, when you need to do that follow this......hidden files (tools > folder options > view > show hidden files/folders & uncheck operating system data )

Hi, Thanks for you suggestion bro.
I tried it but couldn't find the file "Icon Cache.db" there.

Did you show hidden files/folders?

i did show hidden folders still could not find it

Try unchecking "Hide protected operating system files"
